Reservations Network Group **Scam** Clearwater Florida

The St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater is having a seminar where a representative from Reservations Network Group , Representative Jeff,  will try and sell you there scam. Last week a sales rep from American travel partners  called me. They got my information from my entry in a drawing. Says I am entitled to a free vacation - and can choose from four different packages. The catch is that I have to attend a 90 minute seminar with info on this travel club in my city at Travel Partners USA. Once I attend this seminar, I get the information on the free vacation and have to choose which one I want within 21 days, and then I have 12 months to use it in.
American Travel Partners ,claimed to be able to get my wife and I vacations for about 70% off retail with an $8500 dollar upfront fee. Then you pay $200 a year for 10yrs. and you get all these great properties to travel to with $4000 to use each year for booking your vacayion. Each time you use part of your 4 grand for a vacation it is deducted from your total, say you spend a $1000 for a week in Europe it's deducted and your down to $3000 to use for the rest of the year no rollovers.
The URL http://www.rngrewards.com/
We declined after some high pressure and were given a $50 dollar gas voucher and a bunch of options for a (free) vacation?. I wish I'd gone online and read the reviews before I wasted 2hrs|. of my day off to listen to this scam:. They were operating out of a hotel, that should have been my 1st;.red flag'. Not to mention the free vacation's are not really free. below I have uploaded a scan paper that I was given to claim these vacations.

I can only hope none of the other people fell for this:. Because they'll never see their money again & won't ever get their (free)stuff;. They claim to be representing RSI but I read that's also a scam".
Don't go there! Run! I can't believe the State of Florida is not cracking down on these people.

  1. Hi, my grandmother is actually getting ready right now to go to one of these seminars, I think they look up who has money and then contact you , I was online trying to find out some info for her, she,s not stupid she knew right off the bat it was probably some kind of time share or something so she is skeptical but we are curious to see if even if she declines if we can get the vacation, you said its not really free but you didn't say how you knew that? I was just curious what happened to make you not take the "free vacation" ?

  2. Nicole, I posted a picture of the paper your grandmother will get after the seminar. All the vacations have different prices. For example, the 7 day cruise will cost around $700. for 3 people. Try to enlarge the pictures I posted to take a better look. Make sure your grandmother does not buy. Also I wonder if Jeff will give the presentation.

  3. I got a telephone call advising I was in the top winners list to win one of the following prizes: 2013 Ford Truck or cash pay out $25,000; 2 adult roundtrip airline tickets within USA; or a 27" Samsung TV. All I had to do was attend a presentation by Destination Providers at a local hotel. Okay Hubby & haven't anything else pressing to do on a Saturday morning. We go, listen to the spiel (as described in the blog). The presenter made it sound like great deal, but we were not impressed. Thank you for the presentation, where's our free gift. We get a certificate to redeem at another website for a "free vacation". In order to receive your "free vacation" you have to pick the vacation package you want and send in a redemption fee via money order, no personal checks or credit card. Why do I have to pay to get my FREE PRIZE? Can you smell the SCAM? So all I lost was 2 hours of my Saturday morning.

  4. I signed up for the purpose of a contest just like yourself at the Daytona Beach Home Show. I received a phone call from Lori .Only difference is that they were trying to get me to make an appointment somewhere in the Orlando Area (since I live on the opposite site of the poster)

When Lori wanted me to schedule an appointment, I put her on hold while I did a Google search. And voilà! - I found your blog posting. I got back on to tell her that I really wasn't interested as I see how this presentation really works. She tried to tell me that all I had to do was mail them at their Postal Address and I would get the voucher. But she still wanted me to schedule a time with her. I disconnected the call.

As soon as I disconnected the call and blocked that phone number in my phone system, I got another call from them at a different caller ID. I then added that number to the blocklist. This continued with another 3 or 4 numbers. Finally I had enough. I called 866-252-5370, pressed 0, and spoke to Eric. I told him to take me off their do not call list.

He said "We do not have call lists". He further mentioned that they only call off of entry forms with their systems". I told him I keep getting calls from other names and he would try to find my entry form. He asked me if I knew who kept calling. I brought up the phone recordings* and I found out it was Lori. He said she was new and would make sure that I don't get called again. Time will tell. Eric told me they have 40 lines dialing from there, so of course they make it difficult to block.

I would like to thank the poster for having this information. It sure saved me some time! I suggest that when you get these calls and attempt these scams, place a complaint to the attorney general. With enough complaints, they will do something. This is especially true with my phone recordings I have and these scanned documents to accompany. Obviously they can't do anything about the calls being received since they were consented in the form. However, deceptive advertising can be investigated.

*My phone recordings meet 2 party state rule for recordings as my phone system makes a user press 1 on their phone to consent on being recorded.

  5. Wish I had known sooner what a rip-off this is. If you are only slightly travel savvy bargains exist daily that far surpass any they can provide. Be aware - be very aware.

  6. We signed up and I caution you not to. The information presented was misleading and unfortunately we did our research after the fact

None of the information was available to look at on line during the 90 day window I had to cancel because RNG does not release the log in information until after 3 days.

I tried to resolve this with both Mark and Jeff and finally with their attorney, Ken Hamner (who NEVER returned any of my calls or emails.)

I'm filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and if it is not resolved, will retain an attorney.

  7. Now I am curious about them. I was called by ‘American Travel’ telling me I had won the free vacation. Of course I had to attend the 90 minute spiel. I asked for more information on them (so I could do my homework before I went) and was given their web site which tells you nothing. When I got there they had transformed into ‘Reservations Network Group’, and further into the presentation they became ‘SaveOnResorts.com’. They bragged about being accredited A+ with BBB, but this version of the company is only just over a year old and already has a list of its own complaints.

I didn’t join. I thought the theory was good for someone who traveled often and didn’t feel like doing the legwork themselves, but I felt the membership fee was a bit ridiculous to get deals that are already emailed to me regularly. I was also (still am) disturbed by their lack of transparency.

To the person who was kind enough to set-up this Blog, your copies are too blurry to read, but I have a copy of my own, so here is a short synopsis (I’m not responsible for any typos, but I did check twice…).

Choice #1 ~ “3, 4, 5 or 7 night cruise for two” I’m not sure who gets to make the decision about which length of a trip you get. It’s pretty vague. (approx. $175-350. Per person for port charges, government tax, and fees. Based on double occupancy). That would be for an entry-level inside cabin.

Choice #2 ~ “Fly Away Vacation” 2 coach class roundtrip tickets and 2 nights at a 3 star hotel (approx. $185-200 per person in taxes & fees).

Choice #3 ~ “Seven Night Luxury Condo Resort” entitles up to 4 travelers to enjoy a full week in a studio, one or two bedroom accommodations (hope those are really small people). By the way, they still are not really telling you what you are going to get. ($100 refundable deposit and approximately $39.99/night for taxes and fees)

Choice #4 ~ “2 Night Hotel Getaway” entitles you to 2 night accommodations in a 2 star hotel, plus a $50. Dining card through www.diningdough.com (fees and taxes approx. $30-50).

I feel a little guilty complaining about the ‘FREE’ trip I was offered, but it was definitely not what I expected from everything they said leading up to it. I think with a little research I could find the same deals for the price of the fees and taxes they’re charging.

And about that $50 gas voucher (?). You have to mail in the coupon they give you to get a voucher, then you have to mail in your gas receipts to get paid and this is restricted to $10 per month (I think I have that right…). This was after the receptionist that signed us in told me I would be receiving a VISA gift card for the $50.

If this helps anyone make their decision, then great, it makes all the typing worthwhile.

  8. My husband and I were both called regarding a "free vacation" we won at the Home and Garden Show in Punta Gorda. We signed up to attend the presentation on Saturday to claim our vacation. My husband was skeptical and curious and did research on this company. After reading this blog we will not be attending the presentation. Thanks to all who shared information and their experience with this "scam".

  9. I am glad my blog is helping people from wasting there time. To this day I still have not received the free vacation or the free gas card. I followed all the instruction and have received nothing. I am still getting phone calls to go to another presentation. I was tempted to go and tell them it was a scam to there face, but my wife will not let me. Hopefully these assholes will go out of business and stop scamming people for there hard earned cash.

  10. I got a phone call today saying that i won a free vacation. They didn't ask me to attend a free seminar. Said i had to come to their office to pick up my prize. Is this a similar scam or something new? I told them i couldn't drive out that far so i'm waiting for a call back to see what their next tactic will be. They didn't ask me for any of my personal info except for my name and city/state they said to verify my entry.

  11. We talked them down to pay $1,000 for 18 months trial. The fraud is the photos of the hotels don't March the real hotel photos. Reverse your credit card charges... I did.

  12. I just got a call today abt a free trip I won. I asked plenty of direct questions and the sketchy responses sent all my red flags up. I told him that this sounded like a scam and that I needed to do research BEFORE committing to anything. He (I wish I remembered his name, it hasn't been mentioned in any if the testimonies above) swore they were a legit company. I told him I was driving and if he could call me back tmro so I can research the company I'd appreciate it. Needless to say, his call(s) will go unanswered. Thanks for this blog!

  13. I wonder if we could start a class action lawsuit against these scammers?

  14. Wish there was more we could do to prevent these folks from scamming senior citizens. My mom got scammed out of 4k.
