Easter is right around the corner and there is nothing more fun than watching kids run around in their Sunday best hunting for multi-colored eggs. Maybe Grandma still wants to have the grandkids over for an Easter egg hunt around the house, but if you’re looking for something a little bigger, better and more exciting check out what is going on around Chicago.
Chicago Park District Easter Egg Hunts
All through the city, various park districts are hosting their own Easter egg hunts. If you live in the city, you are bound to find one near where you live. Many of the events will feature treats, prizes, face painting, arts and crafts, and a chance for your children to meet the Easter bunny. Some parks might require pre-registration and admission prices range from being free to just a small fee.

2011 Spring Egg-Stravaganza at Soldier Field
What could be better than meeting the Easter Bunny where the Bears play? How about the largest candy grab in the city in the middle of the football field? The first 2,000 children to participate in the candy grab will receive a commemorative wooden egg designed by local Chicago youth. There will be other family activities including face painters, balloon artists and a Radio Disney Show on the South Courtyard Stage. You can also attend an Easter breakfast at the United Club if you make reservations before April 15.

Underwater EGGstravaganza at The Water Works
Looking for something totally different? How about Easter egg hunting in a pool? Search for eggs underwater and swim with the Easter bunny at this unique event. Pool egg hunts will be scheduled throughout the night. Kids can dance to a DJ, play games and win prizes.

Go hunting for eggs under the stars in Naperville at their Flashlight Egg Hunt. Grab a flashlight, a basket and clothes to keep warm at night and go on a night prowl looking for prize-filled eggs. Refreshments will be served and you must pre-register for the event.

8th Annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt
If you don’t have kids, but Fido feels like your child, you can head over to Horner Park in the city to let your dog be part of a little Easter fun. Dogs can hunt for treat-filled eggs, participate in a bonnet parade, an obstacle course and a raffle. They can even have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Remember to keep your dog on a leash and stay with them at all times.
