After signing up for a membership at,Kinetix Health Club in Pinellas Park , FL.
Last week my wife and I were walking through the strip mall at 49th St Park Blvd
He gave us a walk through and the gym was very nice. At the time it was still under construction and had not opened to the public. We liked what we had seen, so we signed up. How ever were told it was going to be opened on April 1st, 2012 . so we signed up, the contract was start and to be billed on April 1st.
Yesterday I received a phone call that they had opoened early. After visiting the gym. It was not as nice as we thought. All the equipment was brand new, But the services were not in god standing. The spin class which my wife loves going to at the YMCA was only on Wednesdays @ 5:30 .
Spin class only 1 day a week. Not good enough. The day care was super small with no video games. My son hated it.
The YMCA has a huge indoor playground,a Wii, X-Box 360, A heated pool with water slides and a rock climbing wall.
We then decided to cancle our membership at the Kinetix Health Club in St.Pete.
Canceling was hard, I was told to call 1-800-658-7727. I called them. They told me I had to go to the Kinetix Health Club / Gym and cancel in person. After going in person they told me to call phone number. What a run around. I finally called my bank and canceled my credit card in order not to be charged fees.
I was also told and have in the contract that I was going to be billed on April 1st. When I was billed on March 15th. Which I did not approve of.
Any ways, I was lied to my a guy named Josh. I am super mad, that is why I am writing this nasty post. Not to mention that they have 24 month contract. Who wants to be commuted to a gym membership for 2 years? Most gym memberships are month to month.

Kinetix hired Mike Childers, General Manager, and park owner investor, who hired Joseph C. Dombrosky, Sales Manager, his friend. Joe Dombrosky is currently working and frauding prospective members when they enroll and sign up for membership by not telling, explaining, and bringing it to their attention about all the membership fee's like, ie, the $49.00 club enhancement fee charged to each member each year, that during the pre-sale and when the club opens that the 14 day Free trail is not really Free. Members where told it was free and that they had 14 days to try and would cancel with not problem or fee's being charged. However, this was a lie, the company charged everyone on the 14 day trail and when the canceled they would not refund the initial start up enrollment fee or the 1st months due back. They also double billed allot of members. Joe Dombrosky, Mike Childer, Larry - the PT district manager, and Josh the PT General Manager all conduct business shady like this and have all frauded members and customers in to signing 24 month long term memberships without telling them about these fees.
Joe Dombrosky, is a racist towards minoritie, a convicted felon on federal parole. Is this the type of person you want handling your membership when he's a criminal and frauds customers? He has hit sexually harass employees and members.

Members, employees, or anyone who has been frauded in your membership or who has a complaint post it and contact me at, kinetixfb@gmail.com. I have currently filed a whistle blowers and a discrimination complaint. Contact the State of Florida Attonery Generals office, file charges, EEOC, the Better Business Bureau, contact the media, and the City of Pinellas Park and file a compaint and charges against Kinetix and their unethical business practices.

DeleteI wanted to let you know that Frank Baltimore was terminated from Kinetix for many reasons. I personally witnessed him inappropriately touching guest, surfing sex dating sites on our work computers during work hours, stalling trial members for up to an hour during our 14 day trial who simply wanted to cancel. I personally cleaned up many of his shady deals one in fact filed a BBB complaint which I would be happy to show you. He was lazy, lied, and creeped many female members out. Frank talks about Joe in his comment negatively but I invite you in to ask any of the 2,000 members we have any day and any time and they will speak very highly of Joe. I invite you in to see the truth and not believe a disgruntled former employee that was the major problem. in fact I will give you and anyone you choose a free membership so you can see the truth no strings attached.

In addition Frank Baltimore was brought into train people but he did nothing but cause problems, make people mad. Joe is by far not a racist and in fact begged Frank to teach him but Frank was lazy & only worried about women.
DeleteMike, I was a member when your Gym first opened. My blog is about my experience when I tried to cancel my membership. I was forced to cancel my credit card in order to stop the payment from going through. I am sure you have made some changes for the better. I believe that Joe was fired. But personally, I do not like the 24 month contract. If it was month to month. Then I might consider it. And for the 2000 members? Every time I go to the strip mall next to your gym. I never see anybody working out. Most of the time your gym has less then 5 people. Good luck....

DeleteJoe was never fired he is and has always been an employee at this location. Again I'm inviting you in for a fre membership to meet the staff who most have been there since we opened so you can see the truth. You can ask any member their opinion about Joe and I am confident that you will get a ton of positive comments as he always goes out of his way to please each and every member.As to our 2,000 members I can show you anytime for proof and not sure time of day you stroll thru our plaza but I assure you if you come by between 5pm and 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday as well as Saturday mornings you will see for yourself all the happy members. As far as your membership is concerned I will be happy to take a look at your agreement & work to help you eliminate that and still give you a free membership. so you have nothing to lose by coming in or callin me or stopping by so I canwork to eliminate you old membership and give you a free membership for you or someone else. as far as contracts are concerned we now offer a month to month option. Hope to see you or hear from to clean up your old membership & give you an absolute free membership. Your choice but again you have nothing to lose but finding out the real truth with Kinetix.

I am glad to here your gym is doing well, No need to show proof. On Fridays we go to the Hibachi buffet during dinner time. So I do pass by your gym between 5-7 pm of Fridays. But it's cool I believe you.
DeleteI am currently a member of the YMCA gym. I am happy with here services. My job also pays for 1/2 of the fee. $25 for the month for the whole family isn't bad. So, I will not be singing up to Kinetix, even though you are offering it for free.
I have changed the heading of my blog. Since you told me you changed the way you managed the gym. Plus you got rid of the bad employees.
Ok no problem! Well the free membership stands for you and your family. But no for profit business can compete with a nonprofit organization. As a former YMCA Director myself not for profit gets millions of dollars in donations to provide great services to families and children. For profit businesses do not get any financial support from federal, state or donors so organizations like YMCA have a leg up on us of course because of private donors & grants. They usually have more to offer for families and the YMCA is a great organization. as for friday evening workouts goes you right you don't see many people there they're probably out enjoying dinner like yourself. So anyway your always welcome to that free membership. Best of luck
